Weary and Light Counseling

Just like anything that is beautiful, it evolves. Over time, Weary and Light has grown into a space where people are able to be seen. As a student obtaining my masters in Clinical Mental Health, I began dreaming about what it would look like to combine my love for creating and my love for being with people who are hurting. Weary and Light is a place where joy and sorrow can exist together. My hope is that through my creative and therapeutic offerings, people will become comfortable with “the mess” and learn to enter its beauty with safe company.

My current work is under the guidance and supervision of Kristina Curry, LPC-S at Restoring Hope Counseling Center here in Birmingham, AL.

My Approach

I believe that everyone has a story and everyone’s story matters. Whether you are struggling with self esteem, anxiety, depression, or lacking the quality of life you always dreamed of, it is not too late. With a person centered and trauma informed approach, together we can discover your story and experience healing. My hope is that through safe and attuned presence to your story, you’ll find the courage to be all that you were created to be.

Utilizing creative techniques like narrative expression in therapy, your story is likely to become an integrated and hopeful part of your heart. I specialize in family systems, addiction, complex trauma, abuse (emotional, sexual, and physical), attachment, and StoryWork. Taking the step to seek help and honor your story takes courage. I hold immense hope for your healing. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions or concerns. I am excited about the beauty of your life as you learn to live from your heart.

If you desire to take the next steps towards wholeness, you can reach out here. I look forward to doing this healing work with you!

  • As a current master’s student at Colorado Christian University in Clinical Mental Health, I am beginning my career through my current internship. I believe you are the expert on your life and I am the guide to help you see its beauty. Under the supervision of Kristina Curry, LPC-S, I am held accountable and am seeking the best ways to bring you into freedom. However, it is important to note that I am not currently a licensed therapist. If you believe you may need a licensed professional, I am happy to refer you to someone who may be a good fit.

  • As a person well versed in trauma informed care our time together will be safe, confidential, and eye-opening. With a cup of coffee in hand and a knack for engaging people’s stories in new ways, my hope is that you will be able to embrace your most authentic self and learn how to live from your heart.

  • I am passionate about creating affordable spaces for people to heal. Currently, a standard 50 minute meeting is $30. Please note that upon my graduation these prices may change.
